The Snake River Valley Quilt Guild was formed in June of 1993 with an initial membership of 25 people. Twenty plus years years later, membership stands at over 100 and includes women and men of all ages and skill levels. Dues for adults are $25 per year ($5 for our Youth Auxiliary) which includes a monthly newsletter.
Quilt Guild meetings are held on third Thursdays, January-November.
- Early Bird Classes begin at 6:00,
- Social Time begins at 6:30 p.m., and the
- General Meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.
- The meeting typically ends by 9:00 p.m.
The meetings are currently held at Calvary Baptist Church, 785 First Street, Idaho Falls (west of the Westmark Credit Union ), except for August, when we typically have a picnic at the park.
The meetings include:
- General Business
- “Show and Tell”
During “Show and Tell,” Guild members share their projects with others in attendance. Each month, many beautiful and unique projects are displayed for everyone’s enjoyment and inspiration. Check our Historian Page to see past Show and Tell quilts.
The Education segment is a time when quilters, both novice and experienced, can learn something new. Our education presentations in the past have included “Appliqué Night,” “Community Support Night” (demos on how to make a support community quilt, including tying and construction methods), “Miniature Quilts” and “Preserving Our Quilts.” We also have book reviews on some of our library books. Visit our Education Page and our meeting calendar for more details.
Guests are always welcome. Please come check us out at the next meeting.
The Quilt Guild maintains a well-stocked library with many books. Members may check out items from the library for their own personal use and then return the item at the next month’s Guild meeting.
