SRVQG is pleased to welcome Gina Perkes, an internationally known quilter, to our guild July 21 – 23, 2017!
Gina will be lecturing on “How Do I Quilt This” and teach two, one-day classes, “Not So Basic Machine Quilting” and “Ruler Work I”. The lecture is on 7/20/17 at our regular guild meeting. The classes will be on 7/21 and 7/22 (Friday and Saturday). The classes are “hands-on” and will be taught on domestic sewing machines.
|The following is an excerpt from Gina’s website, www.copperneedle.com
“I am a lover of all things creative. I have an innate need to beautify things. I feel completely blessed to have been born as an “Artoholic”. My life is filled with: color, fun, ideas, texture, challenges, bling, threads, glitter, sugar, flour, and sometimes chaos. Though I enjoy all sorts of creative outlets and mediums: gardening, mosaic, oil painting, etc…my favorites are QUILTING and culinary. These are the two passions which I rely on to support myself and my three children.”
|You can see Gina on The Quilt Show, iquilt, and The Quilting School. She has authored four books and design patterns with many new projects in the works. She was recently honored with IQA’s Future of Quilting award. In 2015 she took the prize for the Best Longarm Workmanship award at the AQS Paducah Quilt Show.|
|We are really excited to have Gina coming to see us and will start selling class spots at our February guild meeting.|
