SRVQG was so happy to have hosted Bonnie Hunter in November 2016!
She gave a lecture and trunk show, “Scrap Users System”, at our meeting and taught two classes, “Texas Tumbleweeds” and “Pineapple Blossom”. We had a full house for her lecture and our members and guests really seemed to enjoy meeting Bonnie, hearing her talk, and seeing the quilts she brought (and of course shopping her tools, notions and books).
The workshops with Bonnie Hunter went GREAT! Everyone was learning & enjoying themselves.
Bonnie was a very engaging teacher. She sets a comfortable pace in the classroom with good instruction, enough time to sew, breaks for more instruction, quilt viewing and picture taking. If you would like to see Bonnie’s Blog about the Texas Tumbleweed class, click here. Her blog about the Pineapple Blossom class can be found here.
Kimberly gave Bonnie a hollow Christmas ornament and everyone in the class put a little scrap of their fabric into it. What a great little memento.
There was a lot of food, fun and learning that went on. In spite of that, or perhaps because of that, a lot got accomplished.
It was so fun to host Bonnie Hunter and meet all the lovely women who joined our guild in order to attend. It was an excellent segue into Thanksgiving and helped me remember that quilting and the connections we make in it are truly something to be thankful for.
