|SRVQG is pleased to be hosting Bonnie Hunter in November of 2016!
Bonnie will be giving a lecture and trunk show, “Scrap Users System”, at our meeting on November 17, 2016 at 7:00 PM. She will be teaching two classes, “Texas Tumbleweeds” and “Pineapple Blossom”
|Bonnie is a nationally and internationally known quilter, teacher, and writer who focuses mainly on scrap quilts. She has been featured in magazines both for her quilt patterns and articles she has written on scrap management and using that stash to its full potential. You can learn more about her at her website, www.quiltville.com.
Our members are very excited to meet Bonnie and take a class from her. Each class can accommodate 24 students and the Texas Tumbleweed class sold out the first month it was opened. We had several people join SRVQG in order to get a first shot at a class spot. One attendee is coming from Oregon in order to join the fun. Recently, when Bonnie mentioned on her blog that she was coming to Idaho, we had a flurry of enquiries; people from Colorado, Montana, and California wanted to sign up. All in all, we expect that Bonnie’s visit will be one to remember and an excellent kick off to Thanksgiving week.
Bonnie’s lecture is open to everyone. We are requesting a $1 donation to the Quilt Heritage Museum from non-members. The lecture is “Scrap Users System” where Bonnie will talk about how she organizes her scraps and leftovers to be easily accessible and workable into her quilt making. She is bringing 100 pounds of quilts to display during the lecture! There will be a Q&A session following the lecture and Bonnie will have several of her books and tools available for purchase. You can see, hear and meet Bonnie at the SRVQG meeting on 11/17/16.
